Report Date: 27th January, 2022 More than 90% of the world’s transoceanic data traffic travels in cables at the bottom of the sea. Satellites carry data too, but in comparison they are slow and are subject to lags and outages. Practically all internet data travels this way, which leaves economies vulnerable to disruption.
